Abaca, also known as manila hemp, is derived from a plant belonging to the banana family.  The leaf sheath yields long fibers that have tremendous strength and flexibility.  Abaca paper has a tensile strength that is three times that of cotton.  It is naturally acid-free, biodegradable and eco-friendly.  Combined with a very strong adhesive, Abaca.sa is superior to other self-adhesive hinging tape and ideal for mounting large digital prints and giclees.  Will not yellow, harden or seep through.

An easy, convenient method for distinguishing between safe alkiline paper and unsafe acidic paper. Simply draw a line. If the ink turns purple, the material is most likely safe and archival.

Deposits a safe, permanent alkaline buffer to gently neutralize acid in all types of paper. Will protect approximately 25 square feet of paper to resist aging in artwork, certificates, awards, newspaper clippings and scrapbook materials.
