Unique push-pull style cutters that cut decorative V-Grooves in the surface of the mat. Designed for use with the Simplex Plus Mat Cutter, but can be used with other Logan Mat Cutters with the use of an Adapter. Includes five #1258 blades.

For a long time there’s been a misconception that V-grooves are cut by etching neat, v-shaped trenches in the surface of the mat. To many, these exquisite grooves have been final testimony of the professional picture framer’s skill and dexterity. But the truth is that, until recently, most V-grooves were cut as reverse-bevels on the mat’s drop-out piece, and then taped in. Hardly the magic it appeared. Yet picture framers have long yearned to make appearance reality, to actually have a system that would cut a V-groove in the surface of the mat. Three years ago Logan answered that call with the Logan V-Groover. It cuts in the mat’s surface using two blades. The first blade cuts a bevel going out, and the second blade cuts a reverse bevel coming back. It works on the guide rail of the Logan Simplex Plus Mat Cutter or, with the use of an adapter, on the guide rail of the Logan Compact Mat Cutter. It is the same V-groover used by professionals, available to the self-framer at an affordable price.
