Sewing items onto foamboard
is a popular way to
mount loose flowing 3-D items like
clothing or jewelry in an object box. Invisible thread does the
trick. Use a pilot needle to sew through the foamboard which you've covered with velvet or some other fabric and secure the items in place. |

To mount round and irregularly shaped objects, use silicon rubber sealant. Squeeze a dab onto the back of the item and nestle it into a crater you've gouged in the foamboard for this purpose. Cut a slit in the fabric covering the foamboard to allow access to the crater. When you need to remove the item, the rubber sealant can be peeled off the item cleanly. It has the texture of clear rubber, holds fast and is easily peeled off. |
