How to Perform a Canvas Transfer

Set the temperature gauge of your dry mount press to 225 degrees.

Gently peel back the film laminate from the release paper.

Place the photo face up and centered on the release paper.

Carefully replace the film laminate over the photo.

Align the release paper along the top edge of the foamboard and lower it over the artwork.

Place the laminated film/photo/release paper in the dry mount press.

Cover the artwork with the glossy side of the release paper.

Place the sponge foam overlay on top of the laminated film/photo/release paper.

Close the press and let the print dwell in it for 7-10 minutes.

Immerse the laminate liner and print in water.

After soaking, carefully peel away the release paper, and then peel away the paper itself, leaving only the image on the film laminate.

Use a sponge to remove any remaining paper from the film laminate.

Blot with a paper towel to dry.

Peel back the release paper from the CanvasMount to expose the adhesive.

As you peel the release paper, carefully place the film laminate on the CanvasMount.

Gently remove the rest of the laminate while smoothing down the release paper.

Place the CanvasMount in the dry mount press.

Place the sponge foam overlay over the CanvasMount to protect the surface while mounting.

Close the press. The dwell time for an 8x10 is five minutes. More for larger pieces. Consult the instructions that come with the CanvasMount.

The final result is an image that can easily mimic a painting.
