step 2

Why Choose...

Four Sections Cut to Size and Ready for Assembly

These frames are cut to the size you tell us and ready to be assembled without tools.

With metal frames everything you need is provided.  With wood and polystyrene frames the only thing you must add is wood glue.

Sometimes referred to as sectional frames or chop, these frames have the virtue of being quick and easy, and they allow you to forego the upfront expense of framemaking equipment as they require no saw, sander, clamps or joiner.  What's more, they ship more cheaply as they are sent to you unassembled.  However, they cost 70-100% more than the same frames purchased as sticks of moulding.

step 3

Why Choose...

Sticks of Moulding You Can Cut and Join Yourself

These frame mouldings come in 3 ft, 4 ft or 5 ft lengths that you can cut and join with proper framing tools.

For metal frames you will need a manual miter saw and a package of assembly hardware.

For wood frames you will need a power miter saw, a rotary sander, clamps, a V-nail joiner and wood glue.

For polystyrene frames you will need a miter saw, a rotary sander, a band clamp and Plastibond glue.

Mouldings that you cut and join yourself have the virtue of costing half as much as frames that are cut for you.

step 4

Why Choose...

Luxury Ready Made Frames

These frames are fully assembled and require no work on your part.

They are highly ornamented and appropriate for high end, prestige artwork.

They have the virtue of being ready to load, requiring no assembly, but they are only available in a selection of standard sizes.

They are our most expensive frames.
