step 1
The Make-Your-Own "Show Kit" package includes everything you need to present prints for retail. |
step 2
Place the window mat face down and lay the print image side down in the window. |
step 3
Peel the release paper off the back of one of the self-adhesive mounting strips. |
step 4
Assemble the strip along the edge of the print with the Mylar flange overlapping. Adhere the strip to the back of the mat. |
step 5
Assemble strips along each edge of the artwork. The Mylar flanges trap the print in place. This makes it easy for the customer to remove the print. |
step 6
Align the backing board and window mat (with the print already mounted) edge-to-edge along the top edge. |
step 7
Apply the white artist's tape in two places. Apply a tab horizontally and a second tab vertically to form a hinge. |
step 8
The window mat will now hinge onto the backing board. |
step 9
Slip the mounted and matted art into the crystal clear plastic bag. |
step 10
Remove the pull tab to expose the adhesive on the bag's flap. |
step 11
Close the flap toward the back of the matted print and seal it. |
step 12
Your matted print is ready for retail. For alternative ways to use this kit see the FREE Newsletter, Volume 1, Issue 4 on the Tips and Techniques page. |
